How We Support Community Service
AWCP Charity Bazaar
AWCP organizes and hosts monthly bazaars that create an opportunity for our community to meet vendors from all over the Philippines and fundraise at the same time. Products include high-quality, hand-crafted goods such as jewelry, woodworking products, themed art, clothing and accessories, skin care products, season and special holiday items and local cuisine. This event helps support our community service donations throughout the year; by ticket sales and AWCP volunteers who give their time to help run the Bazaar. Details can be found on our Bazaar information page, including dates, location and times.
Fall Charity Party
Our Halloween Charity Party is our annual large fundraising event. Our goal is to bring awareness and raise funds for a single non-profit charity through ticket, raffle and auction purchases. The recipient will use the money to meet goals for a specific project.
Reading for Charity
If you have books (in good condition) that you are finished with, we will collect them year round. The children's books will be donated to several children's charities, and the adult books will be sold at a book sale at the AWCP Bazaar. The money from the sale of adult books will go to purchase new children's books. Books can be dropped off at the AWCP office, or please contact Kathy Gold and Karen Gotianse.
We are collecting toiletries year round, to help women in need. We also welcome extra toiletries from hotels stays. If the donor does not have time to shop for items, we accept monetary donations and can help secure them. Please drop off at the AWCP office, or contact Karen Gotianse.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
The Thanksgiving food drive is active annually from September - November. We collect canned food (no packaged please) and donate them to organizations in need for food. Examples of charities we have helped in the past: Home of Joy and Home of the Dying and Destitute.
Emergency Drives and Others
AWCP hosts various drives throughout the year when the need arises or if an emergency occurs. These can include everything from school supplies to helping with donations in the aftermath of a typhoon. Emergency items such as clothes, blankets, sheets, and medical supplies have been collected in the past. In addition, we would also like to extend special Thanks to Dr. Melanie Chao-lo for her support and giving medical supplies after Typhoon Haiyan Yolanda.
