AWCP celebrates the efforts of the members of the club for making it possible to continue the help we provide to local charitable organizations. This past fiscal year, our club donated to twenty-three (23) different organizations, each established and focused on alleviating the condition of the people they serve.
73% of our donation this fiscal year, March 2015 – February 2016, focused on Education, Shelter and Health related initiatives.
The Halloween Charity Ball recipient this year (2017) is Kalipay Negrense Foundation.
Kalipay Negrense Foundation Inc., is a non-profit foundation working for the causes of disadvantaged children – the homeless, physically and sexually abused, malnourished, out of school and special children. It hopes to break the cycle of hopelessness in the lives of disadvantaged children by providing shelter and food, health care and counseling and introducing them to education. The image of homeless, hopeless people who work and live on the streets is a familiar sight. Forced on the street by spirit – destroying poverty and family dysfunction – the ones who suffer the most are the children.
Kalipay Negrense Foundation Inc. was conceptualized by Ms. Anna C. Balcells and some friends in 2007 and was established as an urgent and concrete response to the growing number of abused and abandoned children in Negros Occidental.
The financial support from the 2017 AWCP Halloween Charity Party allows for the financing of the operation of the HAVEN HOME, a drop-in center for newly rescued children. The center focuses on serving infants, toddlers, and children from infancy to 12 years. All proceeds from the 2017 Halloween Charity Party will be used for the work of Haven Home.
